The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6489 )
Q1: One day my father fell ill, and the women began coming to
my mother with coffee and pure coffee beans, where each woman would put a handful of beans in her hand. Then the tribe agreed to prohibit this custom, and my mother did not return the beans and coffee to the women in order to stop this custom. We ask you to issue a ruling on this, knowing that the beans are still available to this day. May Allah reward you with good.
A1: There is no blame on you in taking the beans from the women as a gift, and you are not required to return them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
