I threw the Jamarat al-Aqabah on the last day with only three pebbles, and the rest passed through without falling into the basin or hitting the pillar, then I left without taking pebbles or throwing, so what is my obligation?

The questioner : The questioner says: May the Shaykh be respected, I threw the Jamarat al-Aqabah on the last day with only three pebbles, and the rest passed through without falling into the basin or hitting the pillar, then I left without taking pebbles or throwing, so what is my obligation?

The Shaykh : Is there a problem with this? First, brothers, you must know that it is not a condition of the stoning to hit the pillar; the pillar was only made as a marker for the place of stoning. This is one point. Second, if the pebbles fall from your hand, or if when you throw them they do not land in the place, take from the ground beneath you, even if it is beside the basin; there is no problem in that, because a pebble is a pebble, whether it is used for throwing or not. The statement that a pebble that has been thrown does not suffice is a weak opinion, and it does not apply to this issue I mentioned, because those who said that a pebble that has been thrown cannot be used again feared that a person might carry one pebble, throw it, then take it from the basin and throw it again, then take it and throw it again. How many times did he throw? He threw with one pebble, but seven times. This does not suffice. But a person who takes a pebble from another person is not going to take a pebble and throw it a second time. Who says that this does not suffice? A stone is a stone. So we say: if it falls from your hand, or if you throw it and it is not likely in your opinion that it landed in the place, take from the place where you are and complete the stoning. As for our brother who asked, I say, and I take responsibility for the scholars who said so: it is obligatory for him to slaughter a fidyah (ransom payment) in Makkah and distribute it to the poor, because he left an obligatory act. Yes.
Brother, state your question. May Allah reward you with good.
