The first question of Fatwa number ( 4995 )
Q1: What is the ruling on the leading of prayer by one who has urinary incontinence?
A1: The prayer of one who has urinary incontinence or something similar is valid for himself; based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[At-Taghabun 64:16], and His saying: [Al-Baqarah 2:286], and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih al-Bukhari 7288. There is scholarly disagreement regarding the validity of the prayer of the healthy people who follow him in prayer, and the stronger position is that it is valid. However, it is better for someone else from among the healthy people to lead the people in order to avoid the disagreement. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
