Is it permissible for a person with urinary incontinence to lead the prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This is an imam who suffers from urinary incontinence. He asks: Is it permissible for him to lead the people in prayer?

The Shaykh : Regarding an imam who has urinary incontinence or flatulence, some scholars hold that it is not permissible for him to be an imam, because his state of ritual purity is limited. Others hold that it is permissible, because it is permissible for him to pray, and whoever is permitted to pray is permitted to be an imam. However, I advise the one afflicted with this condition—and we ask Allah for health for us and for you—not to be an imam, unless there is no one else suitable to be an imam. It is better and further from doubt and from the disagreement among scholars for him to relinquish the role of imam and leave it to someone else. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
