How does one who suffers from incontinence of urine perform the prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A listener from Makkah al-Mukarramah (M. A. Q.) sent a message containing three questions. In one of his questions, he says: He is afflicted with incontinence of urine. How do you advise him, Your Eminence the Shaykh, so that he can perform his prayers in the best manner?

Answer:
The one with incontinence is like the woman with irregular non-menstrual bleeding. It is obligatory for him—as the scholars have explained—that he performs the ablution for every prayer. When the time enters, he performs the ablution and prays with the people—and praise be to Allah—he protects himself with some cotton or the like over his private part so that he is not harmed by urine in his clothes and body. Just as the woman with irregular non-menstrual bleeding binds herself and protects herself with something, and prays the prayers in their times, and performs the ablution when the time enters. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the woman with irregular non-menstrual bleeding:
I perform wudu for the time of every prayerتوضئي لوقت كل صلاة
. So the one with incontinence, and like him the one with constant wind who cannot hold it until the time in which he can perform the prayer, he prays according to his condition. He performs the ablution when the time enters and prays with the people, even if wind comes out of him, or urine comes out of him, just as the woman with irregular non-menstrual bleeding prays even if blood comes out of her. But he performs the ablution after the time enters, as long as the state of ritual impurity is continuous. Yes.

The presenter : The important thing is that you advise both the one with incontinence and the woman with irregular non-menstrual bleeding to protect themselves when performing the prayer.

The Shaykh : Yes, always protect yourself, always, so that it is safer for the body and the clothes.
