Reading from the Mushaf in the Tarawih Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 2238 )
Q1: We performed the Tarawih prayer during the blessed month of Ramadan in the American city of Fresno , and a disagreement arose regarding reading from the Noble Qur'an. Some of the brothers said that it is not permissible to read from the Mushaf in the Tarawih prayer, while others said it is permissible, given that none of the brothers here memorize the entire Noble Qur'an?
A1: There is no blame on you if your imam reads from the Mushaf in the Tarawih prayer; in fact, in a situation like yours, it is recommended by the Shari'ah. This is because the Tarawih prayer
encourages lengthening the recitation, and this is not possible for people like you except by your imam reading from the Mushaf. Abu Dawud narrated in his book on Mushafs, through the chain of Abu Ayyub from Ibn Abi Mulaikah, that A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had her slave boy Dhikwan lead her in prayer from the Mushaf. And Ibn Abi Shaybah said: Waki' narrated to us from Hisham ibn 'Urwah from Ibn Abi Mulaikah from A'ishah that she freed a slave boy of hers from his back, and he used to lead her in prayer in Ramadan from the Mushaf. And al-Bukhari narrated it in al-Sahih as a suspended hadith, affirming its authenticity. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
