Q7: Is it permissible for a contracting company to build housing for Muslims from the zakah funds paid to the poor, given that the housing crisis is severe in Egypt and a Muslim cannot find an apartment?
A7: It is not permissible to pay zakah for building housing for the poor
and it is obligatory that it be delivered to its recipients so they may trade with it and dispose of it as they wish. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
