Insurance for damaged cars

The first question of the fatwa ( 20582 )
Q1: Insurance companies have some damaged cars that they offer for sale. It is well known among people that these are the cars of the insured when they received compensation for them and handed them over to the company, and the apparent situation is that this is indeed the case. What is the ruling on buying these cars from them? Is it obligatory in such a case to ask about the manner in which the insurance companies obtained these cars, or is the original presumption that they are sound? And does the fact that the insurance companies owned them in this way affect the ruling on buying from them? It is known that the registration forms for these cars are in the names of individuals other than the company, and they have relinquished them to the company.
A1: Commercial insurance is forbidden in all its forms, and it is not permissible to buy the cars that the company obtained as a result of the insurance contract; because they are not its property according to the Shari'ah.
