Using medication to prevent menstruation in Ramadan
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 1216 )
Q5: Is it permissible for a woman to use medication to prevent menstruation in Ramadan, or not?
A5: It is permissible for a woman to use medication in Ramadan to prevent menstruation if the trustworthy experts, such as doctors and those in their position, determine that it will not harm her and will not affect her reproductive system. However, it is better for her to refrain from doing so. Allah has granted her a dispensation to break her fast if menstruation occurs in Ramadan, and He has legislated for her to make up the days she missed, accepting this as her religion. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
