The Use of Medication to Prevent Menstruation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The fifth question of the fatwa number (1216)

Q5: Is it permissible for a woman to use medication to prevent menstruation in Ramadan or not?
Vol. 5: All praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions. And after that: It is permissible for a woman to use medication in Ramadan to prevent menstruation, provided that trustworthy experts, such as doctors and those in their position, determine that it will not harm her or affect her reproductive system. However, it is better for her to refrain from doing so, for Allah has granted her a dispensation to break her fast if menstruation comes to her in Ramadan, and He has prescribed for her to make up the days she missed, and He has accepted that as her religion. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
