Fasting the Day of Doubt Does Not Count for Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 7956 )
Q5: Ramadan began this year on a Friday, and some people fasted on Thursday. You issued a ruling, may Allah reward you with good, that the missing day of Ramadan must be made up. Does the one who fasted on Thursday at the beginning of the month have to make up the missing day of Ramadan, or is his fasting on Thursday at the beginning of the month sufficient? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A5: He must make it up; because it was established that it was part of Ramadan, and he fasted it as the Day of Doubt. Fasting the Day of Doubt is not permissible and does not count if it turns out
to be from Ramadan. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
