Fasting after Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
When the month of fasting ends, it does not mean that worshipping Allah the Exalted through fasting has ended; rather, fasting remains prescribed at all times.Until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The best of fasting is the fasting of Dawud, who would fast one day and break the fast the next) This implies that a person should be fasting half the time, or even more, because Ramadan will pass by, during which he fasts for a full month. Thus, fasting, praise be to Allah, remains a prescribed act of worship. And there are specific days for which fasting is a recommended practice, among them: Monday and Thursday, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about fasting on Monday? So he said: (That is the day I was born, the day I was sent, or the day the Qur'an was revealed to me) He used to fast on Monday and Thursday, and he was asked about that,So he said: (They are two days on which deeds are presented to Allah the Exalted; so I love that my deeds be presented while I am fasting) .

And among what is also a recommended practice to fast: To fast three days of every month, whether at the beginning, the middle, or the end, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast three days of every month, and he did not care whether he fasted them at the beginning of the month, the middle, or the end, but it is better that they be the three white days: the thirteenth, the fourteenth, and the fifteenth.

And likewise, it is a recommended practice to fast the nine days of Dhul-Hijjah because: (There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days) , and fasting on the righteous days, and this is emphasized on the Day of 'Arafah for those who are not performing Hajj,For the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about it: (I hope that Allah will expiate the sins of the past year and the coming year) .

And among what is also a recommended practice to fast: The Day of 'Ashura, and fasting one day before it or one day after it; for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fasted the Day of 'Ashura and encouraged it, saying: (I hope that Allah will expiate the sins of the year before it) When he arrived in Madinah and found the Jews fasting it, he asked them about it, and they said: It is the day on which Allah saved Musa and his people, and destroyed Fir'awn and his people, so we fast it in gratitude to Allah,So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (We have more right to Musa than you do) So he fasted it and ordered the people to fast it.
And the important point is that worshipping Allah the Exalted through fasting remains prescribed, praise be to Allah, so let us strive to fast so that we may attain its reward, for it came in the authentic hadith that Allah the Exalted said: (Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, one good deed being rewarded with ten times its like, except fasting, for it is for Me, and I shall reward it) .
