Q7: Please inform us about the shortened prayer, how many kilometers it is valid for, and whether it is permissible for a taxi driver to pray it shortened, even though he travels more than three hundred kilometers every day, along with an understanding of its rulings?
A7: The shortened prayer is: to pray the midday prayer with two units, the afternoon prayer with two units, and the night prayer with two units, if you are on a journey that permits shortening. The distance that permits shortening is approximately eighty kilometers, according to the opinion of the majority of scholars.
