Q4: How do we perform the shortened prayer, let us take the night prayer as an example, and does this apply to all times?
A4: The four-rak'ah prayer is performed as two rak'ahs. So, the night prayer is performed as two rak'ahs aloud, like the dawn prayer, and the midday prayer is performed as two rak'ahs as well; except that the one praying recites al-Fatihah and the surah quietly in it. The same applies to the afternoon prayer. Shortening the prayer is only for travel, and only for the four-rak'ah prayers. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
