Interrupting the prayer for a dangerous incident

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 6555 )
Q: We bring to your attention that there are many of the houses of Allah located next to civil defense units for fire fighting and rescue. Our personnel perform the congregational prayer in these mosques. We have an operations room that receives reports of incidents occurring in the area. When a report comes in, an alarm bell is sounded to notify the units immediately. Sometimes these incidents occur while the personnel are in the mosque with the congregation of worshippers, which necessitates interrupting the obligatory prayer and responding to the call of duty, which may result in saving lives and valuable supplies. Therefore, we ask your eminence to issue a ruling on this matter and the method that can be adopted in such critical situations, and the permissibility of interrupting the prayer to proceed to the incidents, and we await your guidance on what you see fit, may Allah preserve you.

A: If the notification from the person responsible for receiving incident reports is regarding a dangerous incident, there is no harm in interrupting the prayer for that purpose. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
