Interrupting the prayer to kill pests and to catch up with a child who was about to be lost
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eighth question of Fatwa No. ( 8501 )
Q8: Is it permissible to interrupt the prayer when the one praying sees a creature coming toward him, such as a scorpion or other venomous creatures? Also, when praying in the Haram, is it permissible to interrupt the prayer in order to catch up with his son or daughter who was about to be lost from him? I ask for your guidance.
A8: If it is easy for him to get rid of the scorpion or the like without interrupting the prayer, he should not interrupt it; otherwise, he should interrupt it. The same applies to his child: if it is easy for him to protect his child without interrupting the prayer, he should do so; otherwise, he should interrupt it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
