Pointing with the finger throughout the tashahhud
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eighth question of Fatwa No. ( 6914 )
Q8: I read in the book (Three Treatises on Prayer) by His Eminence Shaykh Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz (may Allah preserve him) that the one praying, when sitting for the tashahhud, gathers all the fingers of his right hand except the index finger, with which he points to the oneness of Allah, or he gathers the little finger and ring finger of his hand and circles the thumb with the middle and index fingers. Does the pointing with the index finger continue throughout the tashahhud until the taslim? And does he move the finger in this case? And is gathering the fingers done only during the tashahhud, after which he treats it like the left hand, or does he keep them gathered until the taslim?
A8: Pointing with the finger continues throughout the tashahhud, and it is moved during the supplication. The gathering of the fingers that are gathered continues until the taslim. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
