The Opening Supplication: Is It Performed Between the Takbir and the Recitation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: Is the opening supplication performed between the takbir and the recitation?
A2: It is the Sunnah to perform the opening supplication between the takbir of ihram and the recitation of Surat al-Fatihah; for it is established from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to keep silent - between the opening Takbir of the prayer and the recitation of the Qur'an - for a short while. Then, I asked him (about that) and he replied, "I say, 'O Allah! Keep me apart from my sins (faults) as you have kept apart the east and west. O Allah clean me from my sins as a white garment is cleaned from dirt. O Allah wash me of my sins with water, snow and hail."
Bulugh al-Maram 2:150
It was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim. There are other supplications for the opening, so refer to them in the collections of the Sunnah, and in the book: (Al-Kalim al-Tayyib) by Ibn Taymiyyah , and the book (Al-Adhkar) by al-Nawawi, and similar works. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
