The ruling on forgetting the opening supplication in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister says: I often forget to recite the opening supplication in my prayer. In fact, I rarely remember it. Is it obligatory to recite it? And do I have to repeat the prayer if I do not recite it?
Knowing that I rarely remember it, please guide us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The opening supplication is not obligatory; it is a recommended practice (sunnah), and you owe nothing. The prayer is valid, and praise be to Allah. However, you should strive to remember it and memorize it. When you enter the prayer and say the first takbir, recite the opening supplication, and keep it brief:
Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your praise, and blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your majesty, and none has the right to be worshipped but You.سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك، وتبارك اسمك، وتعالى جدك، ولا إله غيرك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 243Hasan (Darussalam)
This is a brief and excellent opening supplication, and it is sufficient:
Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your praise, and blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your majesty, and none has the right to be worshipped but You.سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك، وتبارك اسمك، وتعالى جدك، ولا إله غيرك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 243Hasan (Darussalam)
after the first takbir in the Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, 'Isha', and Fajr prayers, and in voluntary prayers. When a man or woman says the first takbir, he or she says this:
Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your praise, and blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your majesty, and none has the right to be worshipped but You.سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك، وتبارك اسمك، وتعالى جدك، ولا إله غيرك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 243Hasan (Darussalam)
.
If one memorizes another opening supplication from the authentic, established supplications of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and recites it, that is good. But this opening supplication is brief and easy for most people, and it is established from the hadith of Abu Sa'id and the hadith of 'A'ishah. 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) taught it to the people because of its brevity and virtue:
Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your praise, and blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your majesty, and none has the right to be worshipped but You.سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك، وتبارك اسمك، وتعالى جدك، ولا إله غيرك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 243Hasan (Darussalam)
There are other authentic opening supplications established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If a believer memorizes them and recites any of them, it is prescribed (mashru'). Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
