Transferring the body of a Muslim from a land of disbelief
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourteenth question from Fatwa number ( 2922 )
Q14: Some Muslims in Britain transfer the bodies of their deceased to their homelands. Is that permissible?
A14: Yes, it is permissible for them to transfer their deceased to cemeteries in Islamic lands
and they may establish special cemeteries in which only Muslims are buried. They must move from lands of disbelief to lands of Islam as much as they are able to do so, except for one who is knowledgeable about the Shari'ah of Islam and is safe for himself and his religion, and who remains striving to spread Islam, hoping that people will be guided through him. In that case, it is permissible for him to remain for that reason, and it may even be obligatory upon him to do so in order to establish the proof and clarify the truth. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
