Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 5529 )
Q: What is the ruling on children who died before reaching the age of three?
A: The ruling for these children in this world is that they are treated in the same manner as their fathers and mothers. If both parents are Muslim, or if one of them is Muslim, they are treated in the manner of Muslims regarding washing, shrouding, praying over them, and burying them in Muslim cemeteries, as well as regarding the inheritance of their Muslim relatives from them. If both parents are disbelievers, they are treated
in the manner of disbelievers. As for their ruling regarding the Hereafter, if their parents are disbelievers, their affair is left to Allah, the All-Knowing, the Wise, the Just, the Compassionate, the Merciful; due to the saying of
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when asked about the children of the polytheists, said: "Allah knows best what they were doing."النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حينما سئل عن أولاد المشركين: الله أعلم بما كانوا عاملين
the Exalted: "He does not wrong by the weight of an atom, and He is the Subtle, the Aware." If both parents, or one of them, is Muslim, then he is among the people of Paradise by the grace of Allah the Exalted. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
