The first question of Fatwa No. ( 2177 )
Q1: If a person is in a car and dies, and this man’s death was very painful, such that most of his bones were stained with blood, is it permissible for us to wash him or not?
A1: If washing him is difficult, then he should perform dry ablution (tayammum) due to the generality of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[At-Taghabun 64:16] , and because Allah prescribed dry ablution (tayammum) for purification from major and minor ritual impurity in the case of the absence of water, or the inability to use it, or the harm caused by using it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
