Q10: If a person is known for his bad behavior and is openly committing a major sin, such as drinking intoxicants or others, and we advise others to stay away from him and not deal with him, is this permissible?
A10 : Warning against the deeds of open sinners and those who commit major sins is obligatory,
so if a Muslim fears for his brothers from the deeds of those people, he must advise them and reveal the conditions of the open sinners so that no one falls into their traps. It is also obligatory to advise the open sinners and those who commit major sins, perhaps Allah will guide them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Religion is sincerity (An-Nasihah).' They said: 'To whom, O Messenger of Allah?' he said: 'To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the imams of the Muslims, and to their common folkالدين النصيحة، قالوا: لمن يا رسول الله؟ قال: لله ولكتابه ولرسوله ولأئمة المسلمين وعامتهم
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4197Sahih (Darussalam)
narrated by Muslim from the hadith of Tamim ibn Aws al-Dari (may Allah be pleased with him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
