The second question of Fatwa No. ( 16024 )
Q2: We are budding in da'wah. What is the method we should follow to call people in the best way?
A: First: arming oneself with beneficial knowledge from the Book and the Sunnah, as Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nahl 16:125] and wisdom is knowledge, and Allah the Exalted said: [Yusuf 12:108] and insight is knowledge, so the ignorant one is not fit for da'wah. Second: righteous action, Allah the Exalted said: [Fussilat 41:33]
And Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) said:[Hud 11:88] So it is a condition for the da'iyah that he strives to act upon what he calls people to, so that he is emulated and people have a good opinion of him; for His saying, the Exalted: [As-Saf 61:2-3] Third: patience with what befalls him, Allah the Exalted said regarding Luqman the Wise that he said to his son: [Luqman 31:17] And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-'Asr 103:3] Fourth: gentleness with the one being called and winning him over to good, Allah the Exalted said: [Taha 20:44] And Allah the Exalted said: [An-Nahl 16:125] And Allah the Exalted said, addressing His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): [Ali 'Imran 3:159]
the verse. Fifth: starting with what is more important, which is rectifying the creed, and then gradually thereafter, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did in the Meccan and Medinan periods. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Q2: We are budding in da'wah. What is the method we should follow to call people in the best way?
A: First: arming oneself with beneficial knowledge from the Book and the Sunnah, as Allah the Exalted said:
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction
This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness
And Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) said:
And I do not intend to differ from you in that which I have forbidden you
(2) O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? (3) Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do.
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination.
يَا بُنَيَّ أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا أَصَابَكَ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الأُمُورِand advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]."
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction
So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you.
