Q3: Sometimes, without a scheduled time for menstruation, I experience some light-colored discharges that tend to turn yellow. Sometimes I leave off the prayer and other times I pray. What is the ruling?
A3: Praise be to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions. After that: The yellow or brown discharge that a woman sees after her purity from menstruation is not considered menstruation. She must pray and fast, and she is lawful for her husband. This is based on what al-Bukhari narrated in his Sahih, and Abu Dawud in his Sunan, from Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her)—who is a famous female Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)—who said:Sunan an-Nasa'i 368Sahih (Darussalam) This is the wording of Abu Dawud .
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
