The Legal Standing of Ahad Hadith

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 9377 )
Q 1: What is the ruling on one who denies the punishment of the grave on the grounds that the hadiths regarding the punishment of the grave are ahad hadiths, and an ahad hadith is not to be acted upon absolutely, and they do not look at whether the hadith is authentic, good, or weak, but rather look at it from the perspective of it being an ahad hadith or narrated through different routes, so when they find it to be an ahad hadith, they do not act upon it. What is the response to them?
Ahad reports are not accepted absolutely, and they do not look at whether a hadith is authentic, good, or weak, but rather they look at it from the perspective of it being an ahad report or being narrated through different routes. So, if they find that it is an ahad report, they do not act upon it. What is the response to them?

A 1: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions. As for what follows: If an ahad hadith is established from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), it is a proof in what it indicates, in terms of belief and action, due to the consensus of the people of the Sunnah. And whoever denies the use of ahad hadiths as proof after the proof has been established against him is a disbeliever. Refer to the book (Al-Sawa'iq al-Mursalah) by Ibn al-Qayyim, or its abridgment by al-Mawsili . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
