What is the ruling on one who rejects the ahad reports in the Sunnah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on one who rejects the ahad reports from the Sunnah, even if they are authentic, and even rejects what is in "the two Sahihs" on the grounds that they do not agree with reason?

Answer:
He is considered a misguiding one who leads others astray; he is considered wrong, mistaken, and his words should not be followed or accepted. Indeed, he is mistaken, and he is in great danger from this statement. The people of the Sunnah and the community have unanimously agreed to accept the ahad report and argue with it. Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi, Ibn 'Abd al-Barr (may Allah have mercy on them both), and others have recorded this. Both of them mentioned the consensus of the scholars on accepting the ahad report if the chains of narration are sound. Likewise, Ahmad and other imams said this; they all agreed to accept the ahad report if the chains of narration are sound from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So whoever claims to reject them, or criticizes them, or says: "They are not used as evidence in matters of creed," has made a great mistake. They are evidence in matters of creed and other matters.
