Writing the word Allah and the word Muhammad in an interlocking manner at the top of the mosque door

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 8377 ):
Q: I would like to raise a question that was purely a matter of disagreement among a number of people. It is that the word Allah and the word Muhammad were written in an interlocking manner at the top of the door of one of the mosques in the Idlib Governorate, as follows: Some said that it is not permissible to write it in this form, and they argued for their position by saying that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) thereby became in the rank of Allah, which is inconceivable. Others said that there is no prohibition in writing it, because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) placed His name next to the name of His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). So I ask you for the correct guidance, and I offer you my sincere thanks.
A : What came in the texts of the Shari'ah is the conjunction of the testimony of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) for Allah
With tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and the testimony to His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as a messenger in various places. Among these is the pairing of the two in the adhan (call to prayer) and the iqamah (second call) for prayer, and in the hadith:
Islam is based on (the following) five (principles): 1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Messenger (ﷺ).بني الإِسلام على خمس: شهادة أن لا إله إلاَّ الله وأن محمدًا رسول الله
Sahih al-Bukhari 8
, and others. This includes clarifying what must be believed by the accountable person regarding each of them, according to what is appropriate for each, such as the accountable person saying: "There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." As for mixing them in writing, this did not come in the Book of Allah or in the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Nevertheless, it carries a great danger, for it resembles the false belief of the Christians in the Trinity, that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one God. It is also a symbol of the false belief of the unity of existence. It is also a means to exaggeration regarding the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and worshipping him alongside Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). Therefore, it is obligatory to prevent writing the name of Allah the Exalted and the name of His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in this form: the interlacing of the letters of their names in writing, and the crossing of the letters of each name with the letters of the other. Rather, it is not permissible to write (Allah - Muhammad) on the door of the mosque or elsewhere; because of the ambiguity and deception in that, due to the aforementioned warnings and others. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions, and grant them peace.
