Donating to a charitable project for the sake of one's work supervisor, not for the sake of Allah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 3769 ):
Q4: I donated to a charitable project out of fear and embarrassment of my direct supervisor at work, and if I had been left to my own devices, I would not have donated even half a qirsh. Do I receive full reward for this act, as if I had donated to this project out of my own good will and choice? Please provide the evidence.
A4: If the matter is as you described, you will not be rewarded for this amount; because you did not intend it for the sake of Allah, but rather offered it for the sake of your colleague out of fear of him. It is established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih al-Bukhari 1 This is the hadith. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
