Donations for Building a Mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q1: We have a project to build a mosque, and since the construction of the mosque relies on donations from people of good and the benevolent, some of them stipulate that their donation be used for the basic materials that do not disappear by the permission of Allah except when the mosque itself is demolished. These include, for example, iron, blocks, cement, and concrete. They believe that if they placed their donations in materials that can be changed or replaced, such as paint, lighting, and the like, their reward would stop as soon as these materials they donated for are changed. What is your opinion on this? Please give us a ruling, and may Allah reward you.
A1: If the donor specified in which part of the mosque construction his donation is to be used, then his donation is to be spent on what he specified, in order to fulfill his wish. If there is a surplus from it, or if the mosque does not have a need for what he specified, then he should be consulted regarding it, and his opinion should be taken on spending it on something else. If he cannot be consulted, then his donation is to be spent on the like of what
he specified in another mosque. The virtue of building mosques includes building the entire mosque, as well as building some of its parts and facilities, even if what he built deteriorates or disappears. In that case, his reward is abundant with Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and He multiplies it for him.
