Seeking aid from other than Allah, from the jinn, the dead, the absent, and those with polytheistic customs, is shirk (associating partners with Allah)
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: Does the shirk (associating partners with Allah) mentioned in the noble verse include these Muslims who follow certain paths such as the Tijaniyyah and the Qadiriyyah, and those who wear amulets containing Qur'anic verses and other things on their bodies, and those who follow Islam but have polytheistic customs?
Volume 2: The shirk mentioned in the verse includes those who seek aid from other than Allah, such as the jinn, the dead, or those absent from them. It also includes those who have polytheistic customs, like the customs of the people of the first pre-Islamic age of ignorance, such as drawing near to other than Allah by making vows to them, offering sacrifices and other offerings to them, supplicating to them, seeking blessing from them, and circumambulating their graves in hope of benefit or the removal of harm. Whoever does that falls within the general scope of the male and female polytheists mentioned in the verse. It is not permissible for us to marry believing women to them until they believe with pure faith and repent from the aforementioned
religious innovations of shirk and similar things that nullify faith. It is not permissible for a believer to marry their women who are innovators in the religious innovations of shirk until they repent from them and abandon them. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
