The hadith: My servant, obey me and you will be a servant of the Lord

Fatwa number ( 2808 ):
Q: I have heard some people recite a qudsi hadith that says: "My servant, obey me and you will be a servant of the Lord who says to a thing: Be, and it is." Is this qudsi hadith authentic, or is it not authentic?
A: We have not found this hadith in any of the books of the Sunnah, and its meaning indicates that it is fabricated, for it places the created, weak servant in the position of the powerful Creator, (Glorified and Exalted is He), or makes Him a partner with Him. Exalted is Allah above having a partner in His dominion. Believing in this is shirk (associating partners with Allah) and kufr (disbelief); for it is Allah, (Glorified and Exalted is He), who says to a thing: Be, and it is, as in His saying, (Mighty and Majestic):[Ya-Sin 36:82]
And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is.
إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَيْئًا أَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُAnd success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
