The Expedition to Tabuk
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6899 ):
Q1: Did a duel take place between the Muslims and the polytheists in the expedition to Tabuk ?
Vol. 1: No single combat took place between the Muslims and the Romans in the expedition of Tabuk ; rather, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a treaty with the king of Ila and the people of Jarba and Udhrah regarding the payment of jizyah,
and he wrote them a document specifying their rights and their obligations. I advise you to refer to what Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote on this topic in the fifth volume of his book [al-Bidaya], and what the scholars of biography wrote on the matter, so that you may know the details of the subject. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
