Exegesis of verses 14 and 15 of Surat al-A'la

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: What is the exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(14) He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself (15) And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّى (14) وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى
[Al-A'la 87:14-15]
in Surat al-A'la?

A2: He who purifies himself from disbelief and other sins and vile character traits by believing in the Islamic Shari'ah and performing acts of obedience has succeeded in attaining the Paradise of his Lord and His pleasure. Included in the generality of this is the payment of zakah and maintaining family ties, as well as the charities and spending in the causes of righteousness and excellence connected to this, and the remembrance
of the name of his Lord and the bestower of His blessings (Glorified and Exalted is He). This remembrance is one of glorification, magnification, mindfulness of Him, and recognition of His right, which leads him to perform the five daily prayers at their prescribed times in congregation in the houses of Allah. Following this are the two 'Id prayers and the other voluntary prayers. Allah did not single out some of what was mentioned to the exclusion of others; rather, it encompasses what was mentioned previously and what is of the same nature. Even if some of these are more deserving of performance than others, the statement must be comprehensive just as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) was comprehensive.
