Ruling on attending the Mawlid for one who believes it to be invalid

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 6524 ):
Q: Is it permissible to attend innovative celebrations, such as the celebration of the Prophet’s Mawlid night, the night of the Mi'raj, and the middle night of Sha'ban, for one who believes they are not prescribed in order to clarify the truth in that matter?
A: First: Celebrating these nights is not permissible; rather, it is one of the blameworthy religious innovations.
Second: Attending these celebrations and being present at them in order to denounce them and clarify the truth about them, and that they are an innovation that is not permissible to perform, is prescribed, especially for one who is capable of clarification and whose predominant opinion is that he is safe from fitnah (trial). However, attending them for the sake of entertainment, amusement, or curiosity is not permissible; because of what it entails of participating with their people in their evil, increasing their numbers, and promoting their innovation. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
