What is accepted of the innovator's deeds and what is not accepted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 6719 ):
Q6: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718b
, is only the act of innovation rejected from the innovator, or are all his deeds rejected?

A6: Innovations differ; some contradict the foundation of the religion, while others occur in the manner of worship or involve introducing something into the religion that has not been prescribed. If the innovator's deed is of a nature that undermines the foundation of the religion, such as supplicating to other than Allah, then his innovation and all his deeds are rejected. Allah the Exalted said:
And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.وَقَدِمْنَا إِلَى مَا عَمِلُوا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ هَبَاءً مَنْثُورًا
[Al-Furqan 25:23]
, and if it is in the manner of worship, such as the collective takbir, dhikr, and talbiyah, or if the innovation is in introducing something into the religion that has not
been prescribed, such as celebrating the Mawlid, then this deed is rejected from its doer; based on what is in the two Sahihs from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said:
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.من أحدث في أمرنا هذا ما ليس منه فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718a
. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
