Question 7 from Fatwa No. ( 10768 ):
Q7: Is it obligatory for the pilgrims, both men and women, to visit the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and al-Baqi' and Uhud and Quba' , or is it only for men?
A7: It is not obligatory for the pilgrims, whether men or women, to visit the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or al-Baqi' . Rather, it is forbidden to travel specifically to visit graves in any case, and it is forbidden for women to do so even without traveling; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Bulugh al-Maram 5:58 agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim, and because he (peace and blessings be upon him) . It is sufficient for women to pray in al-Masjid al-Nabawi and to increase their sending of prayers and blessings upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in the mosque and elsewhere. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

One should not undertake journeys except to three mosques: al-Masque al-Haram (in Makkah ), the Aqsa mosque, or this mosque (in Madinah).
