Bowing to someone, such as one’s parents
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The seventh question of Fatwa No. ( 9868 ):
Q7: Is it permissible to bow to someone, such as one’s parents?
A7: It is not permissible; rather, that is shirk (associating partners with Allah); because bowing is an act of worship for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), just as prostration is, so it is not permissible to perform either of them for anyone other than Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
