The Danger of Shirk and Its Nullification of Deeds

Paragraph (4): If Muhammad had a doubt regarding the Qur'an, the Qur'an says that he should refer to the People of the Book, the Jews and the Christians, (10 / 94) from Surat Yunus ?
Answer: He refers to the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Yunus 10:94], and this verse is not a proof for them; because attaching a ruling to a condition does not necessitate the realization of that condition and its existence; for a ruling may be attached to an impossible condition, as in the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-An'am 6:83], the verses up to His saying: [Al-An'am 6:88], so Allah the Exalted informed that if these prophets had associated partners with Allah, their deeds would have been nullified, despite the absence of shirk from them, indeed despite its impossibility for them; because they died upon the oneness of Allah, and because they are protected from shirk. And Allah the Exalted said: [Az-Zumar 39:65-66], so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not doubt and did not ask anyone from the People of the Book; because he did not understand from that address a request to ask a question
to remove a doubt, but he understood that the intended meaning is to clarify that the People of the Book have with them what confirms you in what the disbelievers denied, as in the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Ar-Ra'd 13:43], and His saying: [Al-Ahqaf 46:10], and the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Ash-Shu'ara 26:197], up to similar verses that indicate that the intended meaning is to clarify that the People of the Book have with them what confirms Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in what the polytheists denied regarding the call to the oneness of Allah, and that the messengers to mankind are from among mankind, as is the wise Sunnah of Allah the Exalted. And Allah pointed to that at the beginning of this surah, Surat Yunus, when He said: [Yunus 10:2]. From what has preceded of the interpretation of the Qur'anic verses and the clarification of their intended meaning in light of what came of their parallels in the Qur'an, detailing them and making them clear, which helps to understand the intended meaning of the ambiguous ones and identifies the answer to what your American Christian missionary mentioned
regarding Christianity, to the end of his statement, it is a summary of what he detailed of the doubts in the beginning of his speech. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Answer: He refers to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you
And that was Our [conclusive] argument which We gave Abraham against his people. We raise by degrees whom We will. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing.
That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Allah, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing.
(65) And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allah, your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers." (66) Rather, worship [only] Allah and be among the grateful.
وَلَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ (65) بَلِ اللَّهَ فَاعْبُدْ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَto remove a doubt, but he understood that the intended meaning is to clarify that the People of the Book have with them what confirms you in what the disbelievers denied, as in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Say, [O Muhammad], "Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you, and [the witness of] whoever has knowledge of the Scripture."
Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant...?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?
Have the people been amazed that We revealed [revelation] to a man from among them, [saying], "Warn mankind and give good tidings to those who believe that they will have a [firm] precedence of honor with their Lord"?
أَكَانَ لِلنَّاسِ عَجَبًا أَنْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ أَنْذِرِ النَّاسَ وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنَّ لَهُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْregarding Christianity, to the end of his statement, it is a summary of what he detailed of the doubts in the beginning of his speech. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
