The first question of Fatwa No. ( 10806 ):
Q1: Is the speech of the astrologers truthful, and are they able to know anything of the unseen, and does sorcery affect a person or not?
A1: The astrologers do not know the unseen, and their speech regarding it is based on conjecture, guessing, and lying, so it is forbidden; because of His saying, the Exalted:[An-Naml 27:65] and His saying: [Al-Jinn 72:26-27] the verse, among other verses and hadiths. As for sorcery, it may be an illusion with no reality, as He, the Exalted, said regarding the story of Moses and Pharaoh : [Taha 20:66] , and it may affect the one under its spell and harm him by the cosmic, decreed permission of Allah; because of His saying, the Exalted, regarding the sorcerers in Surat al-Baqarah: [Al-Baqarah 2:102] the verse. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

A1: The astrologers do not know the unseen, and their speech regarding it is based on conjecture, guessing, and lying, so it is forbidden; because of His saying, the Exalted:
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah
قُلْ لاَ يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلا اللَّهُ(26) [He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone (27) Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observers
عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلا يُظْهِرُ عَلَى غَيْبِهِ أَحَدًا (26) إِلا مَنِ ارْتَضَى مِنْ رَسُولٍseemed to him from their magic that they were moving
يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ سِحْرِهِمْ أَنَّهَا تَسْعَىAnd [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah.
