Q4: What is the ruling on one who says: "By the blessing of the Prophet," or "by the blessing of the Shaykh," or "by the blessing of the Qur'an"? Is he one who associates partners with Allah or not?
First: Seeking nearness to Allah through the blessing of the Qur'an is prescribed and is not shirk (associating partners with Allah). Second: Seeking nearness through the blessing of some of the created beings, such as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), is a condemned religious innovation; because seeking nearness is an act of worship based on divine legislation, and nothing has been established in the pure Shari'ah indicating its permissibility regarding created beings or their right.
