Striving for Islamic morals and avoiding imitating the disbelievers

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 2301 ):

Q2: Does Islam allow us, the Muslim community, to adopt non-Islamic customs or follow non-Islamic traditions, such as the customs and traditions of the Europeans in their clothing and celebrations? And is it permissible for the bride to be visited by other women while the photographer is behind them, whether he is Arab or foreign, when neither the bride nor the photographers have a relationship that makes them mahram (relatives one may not marry) to these women?
A2: It is obligatory for Muslim men and women to strive for Islamic morals and to follow the methodology of Islam in their celebrations, their sorrows, their clothing, their food, their drink, and all their affairs. It is not permissible for them to imitate the disbelievers in their clothing by wearing tight clothes that outline the 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered), or transparent, thin clothes that reveal the 'awrah and do not cover it, or short clothes that do not cover the chest, the arms, the neck, the head, or the face. It is also not permissible for them to imitate them in their food by eating with their left hands or by eating in a state of free mixing of men and women, exchanging food at the table when they are not mahram to these women, and exchanging words of fun, amusement, and joking with anyone other than their spouse or their mahram. It is also not permissible for Muslim men and women to imitate the disbelievers in their celebration customs by having a man enter with his bride accompanied by
the photographer, with mahram and non-mahram women around her, so that he takes a picture or pictures of them in various poses. Indeed, in this lies much evil: the image-making of living beings, the exposure of the women to the foreigners, the foreigners seeing the women's hidden adornment in its most beautiful and finest state, and the free mixing of men and women. The Islamic Shari'ah has forbidden this and prohibited Muslim men and women from imitating the disbelievers... Muslim men and women should preserve their religion and follow its straight path, for there is no good except what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has guided us to, and no evil except what he has forbidden us from. And he has forbidden us from imitating the disbelievers, so it is not permissible for us to imitate them in their customs and traditions. If we do not do so, there will be fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) on earth and great corruption. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad , his family, and his Companions.
