It is not permissible to request Christian publications for entertainment, but it is permissible to do so in order to refute them

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 6821 ):
Q2: Sometimes I write to some of the Christian organizations spread in Lebanon and Egypt and France and Switzerland and Spain and elsewhere. They send me some of their publications, as well as some questions about them. For the sake of entertainment or to obtain information about them, I answer these questions, as they wish. Is that permissible?
A2: If the matter is as you described, namely requesting the publications and answering them for entertainment, then it is not permissible. But if you request them in order to refute them, expose their defects, reveal their truth, and clarify the truth in them, then there is no harm. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad , his family, and his Companions.
