Consoling the believer regarding what he misses of the world's pleasure and its enjoyments with what he hopes for of the Hereafter's pleasure and its reward.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"Second: Consoling the believer regarding what he misses of the world's pleasure and its enjoyments with what he hopes for of the Hereafter's pleasure and its reward". Yes.
Consoling the believer, because if the believer sees the people of sin being granted wealth in their clothes, children, families, palaces, and vehicles, he will die of grief. But if he believes in what Allah has prepared for him on the Day of Judgment, all of that becomes light for him. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
and do not eat in plates of such metals, for such things are for them (the disbelievers) in this worldly life and for you in the Hereafter. لا تأكلوا في آنية الذهب والفضة ولا تأكلوا في صحافها، فإنها لهم في الدنيا ولكم في الآخرة
Bulugh al-Maram 16
.
And when 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sleeping on a mat that had left a mark on his side, he wept. He said to him, "What makes you weep?" He said, "I weep because Kisra and Caesar live in the luxury they live in, while you are in this state." He said, "Are you not pleased that they have this world and we have the Hereafter?"
. And there is no doubt that this is a great consolation for the believer. Consolation makes the calamity light for a person; there is no doubt that it makes the calamity light for a person. For this reason, I think it was Rabi'ah al-'Adawiyyah who was injured in her finger and did not feel pain or be affected. So it was said to her about that? She said: "The sweetness of its reward made me forget the bitterness of its patience". May Allah have mercy, Subhan Allah! Words upon which light has been shed: "The sweetness of its reward made me forget the bitterness of its patience". Because things are treated by their opposites, so heat, if the bitterness is what? "The sweetness of its reward made me forget the bitterness of its patience". So the sweetness of the reward corresponds to the bitterness of patience, and this is undoubtedly a consolation for the believing servant. So if he believes in the Day of Judgment, that happens for him.
