The second question of Fatwa No. ( 9247 ):
Q2: Whatis the ruling on the common people of the Rafidahthe Imamiyyahthe Twelvers? And is there a difference between the scholars of any sect that has deviated from the religion and its followers in terms of declaring them disbelievers or declaring them open sinners?
A2: If a common person supports an imam from the imams of disbelief and misguidance, and defends their leaders and elders in tyranny and aggression, he is judged with their ruling of disbelief
and open sinfulness. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Ahzab 33:63] . Until He said: [Al-Ahzab 33:67-68] , and read verse numbers 165, 166, 167 of Surat al-Baqarah, and verse numbers 37, 38, 39 of Surat al-A'raf, and verse numbers 21, 22 of Surat Ibrahim, and verse numbers 28, 29 of Surat al-Furqan, and verse numbers 62, 63, 64 of Surat al-Qasas, and verse numbers 31, 32, 33 of Surat Saba, and verses 20 to 36 of Surat al-Saffat, and verses 47 to 50 of Surat Ghafir, and much else in the Book and the Sunnah; and because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fought the leaders of the polytheists and their followers, and his Companions did the same, and they did not distinguish between the leaders and the followers. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

People ask you concerning the Hour
يَسْأَلُكَ النَّاسُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ(67) And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way. (68) Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a great curse."
