The Description of the Correct Congregation
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 7122 ):
Q1: In this time, there are numerous congregations and subdivisions, and each of them claims to be under the banner of the Saved Group, and we do not know which one is on the right path to follow. We ask you to guide us to the best of these congregations and the worst of them, so that we may follow the truth in them, while presenting the evidence?
A1: Every one of these congregations falls within the Saved Group, except for those among them who commit an act of disbelief that takes them out of the foundation of faith. However, their degrees vary in strength and weakness according to their accuracy in understanding the truth and acting upon it, and their error in understanding the evidence and acting upon it. The most correct among them is the one who is most successful in understanding and acting upon the evidence. So know their viewpoints, and be with the one who is most adherent to the truth and most strict in upholding it. Do not belittle the others as your brothers in Islam by rejecting the truth they have attained. Rather, follow the truth wherever it is found, even if it appears on the tongue of one who disagrees with you on some issues. For the truth is the guide of the believer, and the strength of the evidence
from the Book and the Sunnah is the criterion between truth and falsehood. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
