What is the ruling on studying the biography of the disbelievers of Quraysh under the pretext of knowing the environment in which the call of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) moved?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: O my Shaykh, is there any benefit in studying the biography of the disbelievers of Quraysh under the pretext of contrasting the environment in which it moved, or knowing the environment in which the call of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) moved; especially since the methods and arguments of the disbelievers are often similar despite the difference in time? And did any of the righteous Salaf (may Allah be pleased with them) do that? And what is the benefit of this translation if it is done?

The Shaykh: This study and this translation are not permissible except for one who is knowledgeable of the Book and the Sunnah. Otherwise, if he delves into it, he will not be able to get out of it. He will be afflicted with what afflicted some scholars who studied philosophy and were not deeply rooted in the Book and the Sunnah, so they strayed far into misguidance, while they think that they are doing good.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
