The questioner : The second congregation, O Shaykh!

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : What is the evidence?

The Shaykh : The evidence, my brother, is that it did not exist. Do you know the evidence for any innovation in the world? Do you know any innovation?

The questioner : No, of course not, but...

The Shaykh : No, listen, listen, may Allah guide you!

The questioner: Go ahead.

The Shaykh : If a scholar says this is an innovation, do you want its evidence?!

The questioner : I am sorry, my question was wrong. I meant, why did you distinguish between praying in the road, meaning in a roadside mosque, or praying in a mosque that has a regular imam? Why did we distinguish between the two mosques?

The Shaykh : Because the congregation in a mosque that has a regular imam and a regular muezzin, the second and third congregations split the first congregation. This is an observed and actual fact. That is to say, any mosque that has a regular muezzin and a regular imam, the congregation for that mosque is divided into groups; the first congregation is split. As for a mosque that does not have a congregation, meaning it does not have a regular imam and a regular muezzin, the congregations multiply therein and do not split a first congregation, because it does not have a first congregation.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : May Allah preserve you. Peace be upon you.
