The Importance of Understanding the Word of Tawhid, La ilaha illa Allah, and Acting Upon It

The Shaykh: Then she said: Three things: whoever tells you about them has committed a great lie against Allah. Whoever tells you that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saw his Lord has committed a great lie against Allah. Then she recited the verse from Him (Glorified and Exalted is He): "" except from behind a veil "" Is that the beginning of it?
And it is not for any human being[Ash-Shuraa 42:51] .
And it is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a partition or that He sends a messenger[Ash-Shuraa 42:51], أَوْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ or from behind a veil So how do you say that the Messenger saw his Lord when Allah says: وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ And it is not for any human being[Ash-Shuraa 42:51] and the Messenger is a human being And it is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a partition[Ash-Shuraa 42:51] and she also recited His (Glorified and Exalted is He) saying: Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision[Al-An'am 6:103]. Then she said regarding the second: And whoever tells you that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) knew what was in tomorrow has committed a great lie against Allah, here is the point, the second characteristic: And whoever tells you that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) knew what was in tomorrow has committed a great lie against Allah; He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah[An-Naml 27:65].
The questioner: Repeat the verse, may Allah reward you, Shaykh.
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah[An-Naml 27:65] Then she said: And whoever tells you that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) concealed anything he was commanded to convey has committed a great lie against Allah. Then she recited the verse from Him (Blessed and Exalted is He): And [remember, O Muhammad], when you said to the one on whom Allah bestowed favor and you bestowed favor, "Keep your wife and fear Allah," while you concealed within yourself that which Allah is to disclose. And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him.[Al-Ahzab 33:37]. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: If the Messenger had been concealing anything that Allah commanded him to convey, he would have concealed the divine address And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him[Al-Ahzab 33:37] God forbid that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) should conceal anything, even if it contained blame and rebuke directed at him from the Lord of the Worlds, like this verse, and there are many like it, such as His (Glorified and Exalted is He) saying: (2) Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. (3) But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified (4) Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him?['Abasa 80:2-4].
In summary: Associating partners with Allah in the attributes is also a type of shirk (associating partners with Allah) in which the Ummah (the Muslim community) has fallen, some in their hearts and some in their speech, and the bitterest of them is the most severe. Therefore, this good word, La ilaha illa Allah, returns to the beginning of the speech; it is not enough for the Muslim to merely say it, but he must understand it and know it. Then it is not enough to know its meaning and not believe in that meaning; rather, three things are necessary: the wording, the correct understanding, and the faith that is settled in the heart. Otherwise, a person may know a thing and not believe in it. Therefore, He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said regarding the Jews: يَعْرِفُونَهُ كَمَا يَعْرِفُونَ أَبْنَاءَهُمُ know him as they know their own sons[Al-Baqarah 2:146] They know that Muhammad is truthful in his claim of prophethood and messengership, and that He sent a messenger as a complete warning to mankind, but they denied it, as He said: وَجَحَدُوا بِهَا وَاسْتَيْقَنَتْهَا أَنْفُسُهُمْ And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof[An-Naml 27:14].
Therefore, we say in conclusion: Know, as He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: So know that there is no deity except Allah Now, we want to hear some of the questions that some of the brothers have, so that we may benefit, if Allah wills. And without a doubt, we, the new brothers, need this.
The student: Shaykh, may Allah reward you, we have taken our share... may Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh: This is an additional matter, yes, do you have something?
The questioner: The last question... .
The Shaykh : And what is it?
The questioner: He says, looking at the authentic hadith.
