What is the ruling on the doubt that arises in a person regarding the validity of the prayer due to disputed jurisprudential issues?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : But, O our Shaykh, regarding the disputed issues, for example, when a person reads the statement of those who hold that the recitation of Surat al-Fatihah is obligatory or a pillar of the prayer, he is almost overcome by doubt about the validity of his prayer. So, does this doubt have a place?

The Shaykh : If you mean the general public, the general public, as the scholars say, has no school of jurisprudence, and their school is the school of their mufti. But if you mean the scholars and students of knowledge who follow His saying, the Exalted:
This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me قُلْ هَذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّهِ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي
[Yusuf 12:108]
, then it is obligatory for that scholar and that oneThe student : to seek the truth when people have differed, so wherever his research leads him, he stops there, discards the doubt, and takes hold of certainty.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : And opening the door to this doubt has no end, and as you know, it is from the whispers of Satan. So whoever does not have an opinion must take the precaution, but precaution in many issues leads to difficulty; because the one who says, for example, "read it" is opposed to the one who says "do not read it." Therefore, one must seek the truth and exert effort to the best of his ability, and ijtihad differs from the scholar to the student of knowledge to the layman, each according to his level, and
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : So doubt, meaning, has no value in the Shari'ah, nor is it one of the sources of Islamic law to be considered or heeded.
